Cellhire recently developed a solution for 5 Regiment Royal Artillery, which enabled them to send and receive information securely, when operating beyond the reach of terrestrial technologies.

By working very closely with the client at Catterick Garrison, we were able to design and build a robust solution for training purposes, which mirrors the equipment that is currently used in theatre. Utilising satellite technology means that irrespective of network coverage, troops can communicate sensitive voice and data content securely, via broadband, from a lightweight, portable device.

The BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) solution was supplied with appropriate software, cabling and batteries. A number of Iridium satellite phones were incorporated for added communicability, and Cellhire provided set-up and training assistance as part of the service.
