US SIMSmart local airtime and worldwide mobile broadband

The solution

Cellhire supplied the principal with a US SIMSmart solution which allowed hime to retain his existing mobile number. He also took a USB modem with inclusive data bundle.

He avoided expensive international roaming charges, by taking a SIM card with 'local' US airtime. Cost savings were significant when compared the charges he was likely to incur had he taken his existing phone; approximately 24%. And the savings weren't restricted to outbound calls - incoming calls cost just 10p per minute, compared to a typical UK network charge of 75p a minute - a saving of 87%.

The USB modem provided the client with mobile broadband at a fixed cost for the duration of his trip. He connected to his company's internal systems to access emails and keep up to date with ongoing projects back at home. He was also able to access the web to help formulate his holiday agenda, around the theme parks of Florida!
